Last week, I was interviewed for a developing story regarding the use of cell phone interception technology used by police in recent events in Baltimore, Maryland.
The issues of privacy around mobile technology continue to grow as more personal information is both stored and readily available. Transparency between the technology provider, law enforcement and the American public is necessary to prevent misunderstandings regarding what the technology is capable of doing or not doing.
Technology when used correctly and with the right expectations can yield incredible results. As technology improves, our privacy needs must change to match in order for our devices to do what we want. It’s an interesting dance and we will surely see many stories like the one below before privacy, technology and law enforcement have a truce.
