Location-based technology developer appoints retail & law enforcement industry veteran Peter Emery to manage operations in the European Union.
PALO ALTO, California – Sysorex (NASDAQ: SYRX) mobile and Internet of Things (IoT) division, AirPatrol, announced today it has opened a London office and named Peter Emery as director of the business unit’s European Union operations. AirPatrol develops mobile device detection and location-based security and services platforms for a broad variety of industries ranging from government agencies to shopping malls and public venues. Emery is a seasoned executive with more than two decades experience in the retail real estate and leisure industries. He is also a Police Special Constable in the United Kingdom.
“The European market is a major focus for AirPatrol,” said AirPatrol CEO Cleve Adams. “Nearly every adult carries a mobile phone and the demand for location-based services and mobile device security is strong and growing. With a London office and Peter Emery, a man with deep experience in retail and leisure as well as government and law enforcement, we will be well positioned for growth on the continent,” Adams said.
AirPatrol has two product lines built on its patented Zone technology platform. ZoneDefense is a mobile device security system that detects and monitors cellular and WiFi devices and triggers specific security policies based on the identity of the device and its location. ZoneDefense customers include government agencies, hospitals, law enforcement, financial firms and global enterprises among others. The company’s ZoneAware system is designed for retailers, resort and hotel operators, theme parks, commercial property managers and similar markets, and provides commercial and marketing location-based services such as people counting, foot traffic analytics, discount offers and loyalty program delivery.
“I am very pleased to be joining AirPatrol and leading its European efforts,” Emery said. “In my years in the business I have seen quite a number of technologies used for people counting, locationing and security, but none has ever approached the breadth or depth of accuracy AirPatrol provides. I think this is a game changer for a tremendous number of organizations in both the public and private sectors,”
